During a campaign launch event last Sunday (September 29, 2024), first-time parliamentary candidate for the Amasaman seat, Mr. Yahya Kassim Atta, confidently told journalists that his focus is to promote his credentials and highlight the achievements of his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr. Kassim Atta shared that he is constructing an 8-unit classroom block, the first private primary school in the area, which will offer free education to all students.
Although he is not yet a Member of Parliament, over 1,200 youths have already benefited from the Kas Foundation’s vocational skills training program, which also provided them with start-up capital.
In addition, he has sponsored airtime for both Christian and Muslim preachers to share the word of God on Mothers FM and TV.
Mr. Atta also urged his communication team and supporters to avoid the politics of insults and instead focus on issue-based campaigning.
"The purpose of the campaign launch is to motivate my supporters and team to take the campaign to all electoral areas in the constituency and ensure that we break the 8-year cycle," he said.
He emphasized that his goal is to retain the Amasaman seat and secure more votes for both himself and H.E. Mahamudu Bawumia, with the aim of making history as the first Muslim MP and President of the Republic of Ghana.
"We can achieve this because there are no enemies among us. We are all NPP, moving forward together. So let’s unite once again this year to work for a win," he added.
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Divine Agorhum, expressed his delight at the thousands of supporters who attended the campaign launch.
He voiced confidence that the NPP would retain the Amasaman seat, noting that the newly sworn-in campaign team has serious work ahead, beyond ceremonial duties, to ensure a massive NPP victory in the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Agorhum called on all NPP supporters to work hard for a resounding victory.
