He is a boy from the Kumasi suburb of Asafo, an auto mechanic who got involved in partisan politics as a 'machoman'. His real name is Kojo Fosu Boadu but he is commonly known in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as Kojo 'Bamba' the machoman.
He pulled a surprise when he emerged as the First National Vice Chairman of the NPP, beating 12 other contestants including Dr Mustapha Abdul Hameed, Nana Akomea, Samuel Pyne, George Kwabena Abankwah Yeboah, Richard Ahiagba, Alhaji Masawudu Osman (Chairman Buga - immediate past vice chairman), Richard Oti Aboagye, Abena Pokua Boaitey Amoah, Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, Henry Nana Boakye (immediate past National Organiser), Horma Miez, and Bright Esselfie Kumi.
In the absence of the new national chairman in the person of John Boadu, Kojo Fosu Boadu (Kojo Bamba) will now take charge of affairs of the NPP as chairman.
When he expressed interest in the first national vice chairman position, nobody considered or tipped him among the top three as various polls kicked him out of the race.
Even Bamba himself per his campaign message, doubted he was going to come up tops (watch Tiktok video attached below).
But he had a simple campaign message that asked the delegates to vote for two educated or elites, and vote for him Kojo Bamba as their machoman who will protect party members and their ballots at the general election and constantly reminded delegates that he was number two on the ballot paper and that the elephant was coming back to power.
Bamba's political activities shot to fame when in 2017, as a leader of a vigilante group, the Delta Forces, they stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council offices on March 23, 2017, and forcibly pulled out an appointed Regional Security Laison Officer from his office, expressing their disagreement with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's appointment.
That behaviour gained national attention and resulted in the police arresting him and putting him before court for a lawless act.
After that behaviour and a reprimand by the court, Kojo Bamba went under the radar and was occasionally spotted within the security detail of the party.
Come 2026 and the time for election of new national executives for the NPP for the next four years and Bamba comes up as an interested national vice chairman hopeful among 12 other candidates.
After the voting on Sunday dawn and when the Electoral Commission mounted the stage to announce the results, Kojo Fosu Boadu (Kojo Bamba) is announced as winner for the first vice chairman position with 3116 votes as against the immediate past national organiser, Henry Nana Boakye's 3061 votes and that of Nana Akomea's 2987 votes. Nana Akomea is a former Communications Director of the NPP and recently worked as Managing Director of STC.
Per the arrangement where the first three are selected, it meant the remaining 10 contestants were out.

In a post on social media after being sworn in to office, Kojo Bamba wrote: "I do not see myself as better than anyone else. I see myself as a voice for the youth, a representative of their hopes, dreams and aspirations. My ambition goes beyond personal success; it is about creating opportunities and ensuring that the next generation has a fair chance to rise.
"So many destinies risk remaining in the shadows if we fail to restore power in 2028. Our youth deserve opportunities, our people deserve hope, and our future deserves a renewed commitment to progress.
The NPP must rise again in 2028, not just for political power, but for the countless dreams and destinies that depend on a brighter future."
