Gomoa Central MP advises youth against alcohol abuse

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Madam Florence Rachael Apoh, has advised the youth to desist from drinking and driving recklessly during funerals.

According to her, such acts could lead to their untimely deaths.

The MP gave the advice when she visited seven accident victims at the Swedru Government Hospital at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

According to the MP, she visited the victims, who were involved in an accident at Gomoa Akropong in the Gomoa Central Constituency.

The accident, which happened last Friday, claimed four lives, including a driver, when two taxis collided head-on at Gomoa Akropong, near Swedru in the Central Region.

She said the accident, which was an avoidable one, happened when one of the drivers of the taxis, which was carrying nine mourners, drove recklessly as they were on their way to a friend’s wake.

Madam Apoh, therefore, advised the youth to desist from drinking and driving recklessly in such situations, saying that the fact that a friend had died did not mean that they should also cause the death of others.
