We're committed to free, fair elections - NPP National Officers Elections Committee assures aspirants

The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said it is committed to conducting free, fair, transparent and peaceful national executive elections on October 3, 2026.

The assurance follows concerns raised by the campaign team of Boakye Agyarko over the list of TESCON delegates expected to participate in the elections.

In a response to a complaint filed by the campaign manager, Henry Quartey, the NOEC said it had conducted the electoral process in a fair, open and transparent manner and had provided aspirants and their representatives opportunities to inspect and validate the register.

The response was signed by the Chairman of the NOEC, Frederick Opare-Ansah.

Register concerns

The committee said that since the validation exercise on September 11, 2026, aspirants and their representatives had been given several opportunities to inspect and validate the register and raise any discrepancies or concerns.

It said every specific concern brought to its attention had been considered, and where necessary, addressed through the appropriate processes.

The NOEC, however, rejected suggestions that it was engaged in, facilitating or permitting the manipulation of the TESCON register or any other part of the electoral process to favour any aspirant or interest.

It said allegations of “unauthorised adjustments,” “arbitrary deletions,” “illegal stuffing” or attempts to “manipulate the electoral album” were serious.

The committee said it was concerned that the allegations had been made without the complaint identifying any specific name, alteration, deletion or addition to support the claims.

Specific cases

The NOEC has invited the Boakye Agyarko campaign team to submit details of any disputed entry, omission, addition or other specific concern regarding the TESCON list.

It said it was ready to engage the campaign immediately and examine any supporting information to enable it to resolve the matter promptly.

The committee said it remained committed to allowing legitimate scrutiny of the register and welcomed the participation of aspirants and their representatives in the process.

It, however, said it was unfortunate that the work of the committee and the integrity of its members had been called into question through general allegations without specific matters being presented for investigation.

October 3 polls

The NOEC said it would continue to engage all stakeholders openly, fairly and in good faith, adding that genuine concerns would receive the same careful attention given to issues raised throughout the electoral process.

“We, accordingly, reiterate our unwavering commitment to conducting free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections on October 3, 2026,” the committee stated.

It said the elections would be conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution, applicable regulations and the principles governing the electoral process.

The committee also said it remained available to meet the Boakye Agyarko campaign team on any specific matters requiring clarification or resolution.
