Vote for change on Dec. 7 — Mahama

The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general election, John Dramani Mahama, has appealed to the electorate to vote for him on December 7, to enable him to reset the country on a path of progress and development.

Voting for him on December 7, he said, would also enable him to “fix the broken economy, create decent and well-paying jobs for the youth through the 24-hour economy initiative and establish a National Women’s Bank to provide financial assistance to one million women businesses.”

With 150 days to the December 7, 2024, presidential and parliamentary elections, former President Mahama said in a statement that the time for change was coming and was certain that the electorate would vote for change “to end the suffering of this nation”.

Building Ghana

The statement urged the electorate to vote for him and the NDC for change to signal the need “for us all to build the Ghana we want together”. “Building Ghana together means voting Mahama — your experienced, visionary, truthful and humble servant—as the next President of Ghana,” it said.

It said building Ghana together meant “rejecting the arrogance, corruption and greed of this non-performing NPP administration that only seeks to extend the misrule and socio-economic hardships imposed on us by the Akufo-Addo/Dr Bawumia government”.

Mr Mahama said he needed the votes of Ghanaians to investigate and punish corrupt officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who had allegedly stolen and “continue to steal from the poor taxpayer, scrap the COVID and E-levies, abolish ex gratia and reduce the size of government drastically to a maximum of 60 ministers.”

The statement gave an assurance that he and his running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, would “restore dignity, humility, vision, and experience to the presidency.”
