Three health institutions receive medical materials from Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has donated assorted medical materials for the treatment of skin diseases and wounds to three medical facilities at Nsawam and Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region.

The materials worth GH¢30,000 included gauze, plasters, bandages and sodium chloride infusions.

The beneficiary facilities are the Nsawam Government Hospital, the Notre Dame Clinic and the Orthopaedic Training Centre, both in Adoagyiri.

In his remarks at the medical centres last Monday, Mr Annoh-Dompreh said he bought the medical materials from his own resources, while on a programme in Germany.

He said he knew that accident cases along the Accra-Nsawam Highway were often referred to the Nsawam Government Hospital and other medical facilities in the area.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh said he therefore thought it prudent to procure the medical materials to aid the treatment of wounds.

He expressed the hope that the medical items would support the medical facilities to provide treatment to many patients from Nsawam and surrounding areas.

Projects

At the Nsawam Government Hospital, Mr Annoh-Dompreh said he had already donated GH¢50,000 from the Health Fund component of his MP’s Fund towards the extension of the maternity ward.

He said he had also lobbied the Nursing and Midwifery Council to contribute GH¢10,000, and gave an assurance that he would continue to solicit for funding towards the project.

At the Notre Dame Clinic, Mr Annoh-Dompreh pledged to team up with the clinic to raise the needed funding to construct a detention room at the clinic.

That pledge was in response to a request by the authorities of the clinic for financial assistance for the construction of a detention room to allow for the admission of patients with serious conditions.

At the Orthopaedic Training Centre, Mr Annoh-Dompreh thanked the teaching and non-teaching staff for the support they were rendering to patients.

He said he had placed orders for the shipment of wheelchairs and  promised to supply a portion to the centre.

Appreciation

At the separate occasions, the Chief Physician Assistant at the Notre Dame Clinic, Mr Philip Quarshie, the Head of Pharmacy at the Nsawam Government Hospital, Mrs Grace Attah-Adjepong, and the Public Relations Officer of the Orthopaedic Training Centre, Mr Eleazer Asante, thanked Mr Annoh-Dompreh for the donation.

They said the medical materials would facilitate the treatment of wounds and skin diseases at their respective medical facilities.
