NPP ready to win wulensi seat

The Campaign Manager of the ruling  New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Peter Mac Manu, has reiterated the commitment of the party to retain the Wulensi Constituency in the Northern Region.

He added that the party was also focused on increasing the votes President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo got in the 2016 election.

Tension

Tension had been brewing in the NPP’s camp in Wulensi following Alhaji Haruna’s lost in the primaries by two votes to the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Mr Thomas Donko Ogajah.

Supporters of Alhaji Haruna had threatened to vote skirt and blouse, a situation that threatened to derail the party’s dream and commitment of retaining the seat.

However, peace prevailed after Alhaji Haruna and the MP smoked the peace pipe and allowed sleeping dogs to lie.

Consequently, the supporters have pledged their unflinching support to the party, President Akufo-Addo and Mr Ogajah

United for victory

Speaking to the media after a meeting with Alhaji Abdulai Haruna and his supporters, Mr Mac Manu said the party was more than united to win the constituency.

“I want to extend appreciation to the people of Wulensi, especially Alhaji Abdulai Haruna, and use the occasion to congratulate the people for the unity they have brought to the party in Wulensi and the good works they have done which gives me hope that we are going to retain the seat and increase the margin of vote for the President,” Mr Mac Manu said.

For his part, Alhaji Haruna pledged to throw his weight behind the incumbent MP by campaigning for him and the party to retain the seat.

“The party is bigger than any individual. We have agreed that the president has performed very well for this country, so we want to do everything to get four more for Nana, to do more for this country.

“So we want to deliver the seat and get a resounding victory for President Akufo-Addo in the constituency come December 7. We will campaign for the 4more4Nana to become a reality”, he said.

On his part, Alhaji Haruna pledged to throw his weight behind the incumbent MP by campaigning for him and the party to retain the seat.

“The party is bigger than any individual. We have agreed that the president has performed very well for this country, so we want to do everything to get four more for Nana, to do more for this country.

So what we have done after the primaries for this party has been phenomenal, all petty issues that were there have been resolved.

“So we want to deliver the seat and get a resounding victory for Nana Addo in the constituency come December 7. I will support the candidate to deliver that victory for Nana”, he assured
