A Former National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has called on members of the party to close ranks and unite, following the party’s National Delegates Conference held in Kumasi last Saturday.
In a statement congratulating the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu, and other national executive, Mr Agyarko said the time for internal contest was over and the party must now focus on consolidation ahead of the 2028 general election.
Mr Agyarko pledged his support for Mr Boadu, the newly elected national executive committee and the NPP’s flag bearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He said he was ready to work with the party’s leadership and grassroots across the 16 regions to secure what he described as a “total, decisive victory” for the NPP in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Mr Agyarko thanked his campaign team, volunteers, constituency executive and delegates who supported his bid, saying their loyalty and sacrifices would not be in vain.
He described the internal contest as a family affair and urged members to heal wounds and present a united front.
He also commended the NPP National Elections Committee, the Electoral Commission and the security services for overseeing what he described as a smooth, transparent and peaceful conference.
