Ghana needs continuity agenda: Rev. Dr Ofori tells politicians
The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), Right Rev. Dr Setorwu Kwadzo Ofori, has called on politicians to consciously develop a continuity agenda for the nation where a party in power continues with the projects of the past governments in order to speed up national development.
He has, therefore, appealed to political parties to make intentional efforts to acknowledge contributions of opponents and build on the successes of their predecessors.

Rev. Dr Ofori was preaching the sermon at the thanksgiving service to climax the 2019 International Conference of the Men’s Ministry of the church held at the GEC Convention Centre at Adaklu-Wumenu, near Ho.
It was on the theme: “Making Effective Disciples of Men: The Cross and Our Commitment.”
All have contributed
The moderator said it was “appalling to hear political parties condemning one another as if the other never did anything. The fact remains that all parties have contributed their quota to the development of the country”.
“Ghanaians are waiting for the day when a political party in power would boldly acknowledge the positive contributions of its predecessor and pledge to move on from where the other ended. It is then that we can confidently declare that Ghana has taken off,” he stated.
Mr John Nelson Kwesi Akorli, the Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), who represented the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa, commended the church for its high moral standards and appealed to the members to extend such virtue to affect the lives of others.
He encouraged the members to take advantage of government projects and policies to better their individual and corporate lives.
Five-year strategic plan
The National Coordinator of the Men’s Ministry of GEC, Rev. Wisdom Ayitey, disclosed that the leadership of the ministry had developed a five-year strategic plan which would guide its activities.
He said the five pillars on which the ministry would be built in the next five years were meetings, mobilisation, evangelism, discipleship and entrepreneurship.
He stressed the importance of developing entrepreneurial mindsets in the men so that all of them would be gainfully employed, provide for their families, contribute to church growth and give their quota towards national development.
Rev. Ayitey later presented a citation and a cash reward on behalf of the GEC Men’s Ministry to Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Bredzei, the immediate past National Coordinator, who had successfully ended his tenure of office after 10 years of dedicated service.
