Friends of Spio-Garbrah support NDC parliamentary candidates

Friends of Ekow Spio-Garbrah, a group sympathetic to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), have donated 12,000 T-shirts to some parliamentary candidates of the party.

According to the group, the gesture was to support the candidates and encourage them in their campaign activities.

The NDC officially launched  its campaign  on the theme “Changing lives and Transforming Ghana,” at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the Central Region yesterday.

Presentation

In June this year, the group presented 2,400 T-shirts to 12 Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) who were all first timers at the party’s headquarters.

At the residence of the Greater Accra Regional Minister last Tuesday, the group also presented T-shirts to 48 PCs of the NDC who were made up of first timers and sitting Members of Parliament.

Each of the candidates received 200 T-shirts which had their pictures with the President embossed on them, while 50 of the T-shirts had only the picture of the President.

Making the presentation on behalf of the group, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ekow Spio-Garbrah, urged the beneficiaries to work hard and win their seats, as well as win more votes to retain President John Dramani Mahama come December 7.

“As the party launches its campaign this Sunday, I urge all of you to work hard  and win your respective parliamentary seats and in the process also to campaign for the President so that he can also win and continue his second term in December.

“We wish to urge members of the NDC to support the party’s campaign activities, since leadership cannot do that alone,” he explained.

 Commendation

The beneficiaries commended the group for the assistance.

“Being first timers, it has not been easy for us to run our campaign. “We are, therefore, grateful to the group for the support. We are also appealing to other members of the party to come to our aid,” the NDC PC for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Mr Samuel George Nartey, said.
