Federation of Muslim Council wishes Christians happy Easter

The executive committee of the Federation of Muslim Council (FMC) has appealed to all Muslims to remain focused in their prayers for peace, stability and tolerance in the country.

It also expressed appreciation to the leadership and entire membership of  Christendom for the peaceful co-existence with Muslims.

It wished all Christians happy Easter celebration.

A statement signed by Alhaji Abdulah S. Williams, President of the federation, said “on the declaration of the National Week of Prayers and Fasting by the leadership of Christendom, the federation declares its full support for the celebration.” According to the federation, it is in line with their decision to offer intercessory prayers at Makkah and Madina for national peace, stability and tolerance.

It added that the lack of tolerance had been largely responsible for the turmoil being witnessed around the globe, particularly nations around Ghana.

It also said since the Ministry of Health appeared to have taken action on the missing baby saga of the KATH, it urged the ministry to be cautious and avoid punishing the wrong people because that could leave the real culprits off the hook.

The federation also commended the decision by the Electoral Commission to consider daily registration of voters as a step in the right direction.

In a related development, the retained General Secretary of the Muslim Council of Ghana, Shiekh SM Sibidow, has pledged to serve Muslims to the best of his ability.

In an interview, he said he would justify the confidence reposed in him, and,  therefore, assured all Muslims that he would use his experience, knowledge and vast contacts to help the FMC to regain and restore the unity of Muslim Uma.
