The meeting will afford the parties opportunity to discuss an interim report on the audit of pink sheets by KPMG as requested by the court.

Justice William Atuguba, chairman of the nine-panel court, announced the shorter-than-usual sitting in court at the resumed hearing of the petition challenging the legitimacy of President John Mahama’s election in the 2012 polls. The court usually sits beyond 4pm.

The order for a count of the pink sheets submitted as evidence by the petitioners followed a claim by Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, counsel for the National Democratic Congress which is the third respondent in the case, that the lot does not add up to the number claimed by the petitioners.

The petitioners are Nana Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party in the 2012 election; his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; and NPP chairman Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Mr. Philip Addison, lead counsel for the petitioners, continued his cross-examination of the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan.
