In another development, Gilbert Mawuli Agbey reports from Agona Swedru that the entire constituency and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Agona West Constituency in the Central Region have welcomed the appointment of Mr E.K.T. Addo as the new Central Regional Minister.

A statement signed by the Agona West Propaganda Secretary of the NDC, Mr Kwesi Dawood, and made available to the Daily Graphic said that they reckon that the experience of Mr Addo in government and the region, coupled with the numerous roles he had played in the NDC at the regional level makes them hopeful that he would work hard to improve the development of the region.

According to the statement, his predecessor, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe, had done a lot to change the face of the region during her tenure, particularly through the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM).

It further stated that the members of NDC in the constituency were hopeful that the appointment of Lawyer E.K.T. Addo would no doubt accelerate the development of the region, as was done by his predecessor.

The statement also reminded the nominee to help the President to honour his promise to site the new College of Education at Swedru in order to develop the town, promote trading activities and also to re-award all roads in the municipality on contract.
