Ejisu Juaben MCE supports Muslims

THE Ejisu Juaben Municipal Chief Executive has presented 150 pieces of mats to Muslims in the municipality to support their religious activities.

Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive, (MCE), Mr Kwaku  Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, said the gesture was also to show appreciation to the Muslim community for the prayers they said for the country, during the eight months election petition period.

According to Mr Yamoah Ponko, he had personally called on the Municipal Chief Imam, Sheikh Rufayah Abubakr, to continuously pray for peace and justice to reign in the country which they did hence the peaceful outcome of the case.

He also commended the community for the comportment and maturity exhibited during the  period.

Mr Yamoah Ponkoh mentioned that plans were far advanced in the construction of a merchansied bore-hole for the community and the rehabilitation of the link roads in the Zongo community in Ejisu.

The municipal chief Imam, who received the items at the mosque, where the presentation was made, thanked the MCE for the gesture, adding that they were delighted because he was the first MCE to  visit them.

He promised to use the mats,  and that he would continuously pray for the municipality and the country as a whole.

Special prayers led by the Imam were said for the President and the MCE.
