Already, the EC has completed the printing of notice of polls on the elections  and distributed same  to the 26,890 polling stations across the country.

In addition, the commission has also completed the compilation of the voters registers which are ready for distribution to the polling stations.

The Director of Elections of the EC, Mr Samuel Tettey, who disclosed this in an interview, said other logistics and election materials such as laminators, and declaration of results forms which were acquired  from abroad had arrived at the Tema Harbour  ready to be cleared.

He said the current preparations were a great  improvement over that of the 2010 district level elections, which had to be extended by the commission  as a result of challenges with printing of election materials.

The director of elections said the materials included transparent  ballot boxes,  notice of poll  and carrier bags for the handling of election materials by presiding officers  and other staff members of the EC on the field.

Meanwhile, the headquarters of the EC is brisk with activity, as vehicles loaded with election materials leave the headquarters to their various destinations in the regions.

According to the director of elections, the next line of action was the training of presiding officers as the training of returning officers had already been completed.

He said the EC would,  from February 18, 2015, begin to mount platforms for all the candidates to share their  vision with the voters.

Mr Tettey advised the candidates to be abreast of the election rules and regulations, especially those that when broken could lead to the disqualification of candidates.

He said one of the rules which could lead to the disqualification of a candidate was accepting sponsorship from a company,  an individual or a political party to run his or her campaign.
