Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe reacts to suspension

Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founder member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared that his suspension is of no moment and will continue to fight for New Patriotic Party’s ideals.

Responding  to what he calls "a purported attempt to suspend me from the party", Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe stated that "I treat with contempt the letter purportedly written by the Greater Accra Regional executive of the NPP  on the 31st of December 2015, suspending me from the party. “

Gaping sycophants

In a press release, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe stated that the authors were just "gaping sycophants".

He added that “the authors were in such a haste to attack me that they failed to respect the time-honored principle of giving an accused the opportunity to face his accusers and defend himself.”

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the authors quoted the party's constitution without the awareness that “some of us brought that constitution into being with our sweat and blood".

Referring to ongoing issues in the NPP, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe lashed out at those he called "fascists" within the party.

Statesman

He argued that “as a statesman, in recent times, I have heeded counsel not to speak on party matters. However, I have never retreated from a fight so I will respond pound for pound.’’

He asked his detractors what the party had done to members who, among other things, violently disrupted party parliamentary primaries leading to criminal prosecution; those who advocated that only Akans were worthy of ruling Ghana; as well as those who falsely attacked former President J. A. Kufuor and other leading members of the party without basis.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said those who violently disrupted public functions organised by other party members, including senior citizens such as Attoh-Quarshie, should also be sanctioned.

Headquarters

He also said party members who violently prevented elected party officials from entering the party headquarters, as well  as those caught on tape planning to mount dubious court cases against financial institutions to make money for their own pockets ought to be brought to order."

He alleged that "all of these people want to prove their allegiance to our flag bearer by running others down. They are counting their chickens before they are hatched. Instead of focusing on the 2016 elections, they are pursuing an agenda of rumour-mongering".

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe concluded that “I refuse to answer to fascists. I will answer to people such as J. A. Kufuor,  B. K. Adama,  Tolon Naa Alhaji Yakubu Talli, Roland Al hassan,  Dzato Kaleo,  Alhaji Adbulai Issahaque, Peter Ala Adjetey, B. J. daRocha, Dr Dsane Selby, J. H. Mensah, Samuel Odoi Sykes, Kwame Pianim, K. G. Osei Bonsu and those who laid the foundation of our party”.
