Don’t allow division to erode NDC gains at Tano South

The Tano South Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have urged party supporters not to allow themselves to be used by some self-seeking individuals to create disunity and disaffection in the party.

They said the  NDC was able to win the parliamentary seat for the constituency for the first time in the 2012 general elections and, therefore, supporters  should not do anything to compromise the gains made by the party in the constituency.

The constituency executives stated that what was needed now was peace in the constituency and in the party to enable President John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area- Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw, and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Zakaria Bukari Anaba, to move the district forward for the benefit of the people.

Speaking at an emergency constituency executive meeting at Bechem, the district capital in the Brong Ahafo Region,  Mr Joseph Asare Fofie, the  Constituency Chairman, on behalf of the entire executive, cautioned those vying for the DCE position in the district to desist from using unorthodox means since that would not be healthy for the unity and cohesion of the party and for their own good.

He noted that those who are calling for the removal of the DCE are not members of the party but detractors who want to create confusion to erode the gains made by the party in the constituency.

Mr Fofie, therefore, cautioned supporters not to lend their support to anybody who intends to embark on a demonstration in the constituency against the DCE since that was not the position of the party and that of the executives.

He called on supporters of the party to remain calm and rally behind the  MP and the DCE to bring development to the constituency for the benefit of all.
