Special Voting: Election official forced to obey voting rule

The voting process at the Atomic Police Station where special voters in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency in the Greater Accra Region cast their ballots on Thursday,  was largely smooth and started on time at 7am.

Out of the 797 special voters on the register, about 150 voters had cast their votes as at 12 noon with some security personnel and other special voters failing to find their names on the register and had to leave in disappointment.

The Presiding Officer, Mr Agbavor decried the inability of some special voters to vote but said those people would be catered for on December 7.

The Presiding Officer at one stage did not take kindly to the behaviour of a special voter who happened to be one of the election officers who picked two of the ballot papers at the same time instead of the presidential ballot first followed by that of the parliamentary candidate.

The officer who appeared confused was prevailed upon not to repeat the same malpractice on Election Day when he would be giving out the ballot papers to the voters.
