He was demonstrating against what he calls the economic hardships facing the country and the need for the government to do something to reverse the trend.

According to the PPP youth leader, polytechnic teachers were on strike, there is fuel shortage in the country, monies owed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) have not been paid,  government subventions given public universities have been removed and academic user fees have been increased in all public universities, among other challenges.

He indicated that the afore-mentioned problems were an indication that there was no clear leadership in the country.

These problems, Mr Nkrumah stated had taken a toll on well-meaning Ghanaians.

He, therefore, said his one-day demonstration was to stand up and send a clear message to the government that times were hard.

“If you are out there like me and you feel things are not going the way you expect, join me in this protest to register our displeasure at government actions,” he said.
