The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has set December 2014 for their National Delegates Congress.
The venue for the congress is yet to be determined by the central committee of the party.
Briefing the Daily Graphic in Accra yesterday after the party sucessfully orgainsed its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at Tamale last Saturday, the General Secretary of the party, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, said April, May and June 2014 had been set as the months to complete a pilot biometric registration of all its members onto a database for easy mobilisation to help them to possibly win the 2016 election.
He disclosed that the NEC took the decision at the end of its meeting in Tamale last Saturday.
He said that this would be followed immediately by polling station, constituency and regional elections in July, August and September.
On completion, he said, it would pave the way for the party to organise its national delegates’ congress in December 2014 to elect a flag bearer in 2015.
He said it was the determination of the party to do everything within its capabilities to increase its electoral fortunes and possibly win the 2016 election.
The CPP last Saturday organised its NEC meeting in Tamale where it announced it was going to register all its members onto a biometric database system and issue them with biometric identity cards to facilitate easy identification.
