Reports say the President, who is currently working from the Osu Castle, will soon move to the Flagstaff House.

Security concerns have been raised regarding the location of the presidential palace which is extremely close to the French Embassy with some saying the French intelligence satellite could interfere with that of government.

Lt. Col. Gbevlo Lartey told Citi News that government officials were still in talks with the Embassy officials to have its embassy relocated.

“As the President has decided to move there, security concerns have been adequately addressed to enable him move there. The authorities have been in talks with the French Embassy during President Kufuor’s time,” he stated.

Lt. Col Gbevlo further stated that the Foreign Affairs Ministry, which currently is housed in the Flagstaff House, would be relocated when President Mahama moves in.

“The Foreign Affairs Ministry will also move out of the Flagstaff House after the final touches are made for the President to move in,” he said.
