Businessman jailed for destroying NDC posters

A businessman from Aiyinasi in the Ellembelle District, Mr Philip Asamoah, has been jailed one month in hard labour by the Axim Magistrate’s Court for destroying National Democratic Congress (NDC) party posters.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of wilful destruction of official document when he appeared before the court presided over by the Nzema-East Municipal Magistrate, Mr Bitam Lari.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Amponsah told the court that on September 22, Asamoah was caught  by an NDC zonal organiser in the act of destroying party posters of the NDC with a water gun at Aiyinasi at 11 p.m.

The prosecutor said the zonal organiser, therefore, reported Asamoah to the Aiyinasi police who arrested him and charged him with the offence.
