Bugri Nabu to Afoko: Apologise to enable us accept you back

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bugri Naabu, has advised the suspended National Chairman of the party, Mr Paul Afoko, to apologise to the National Executive Committee (NEC) to enable them accept him back to join the election campaign.

According to him, it was not too late for the suspended chairman to apologise for his actions to enable him re-join the campaign to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Nabu gave the advice at a press conference held in Tamale on Monday to announce a street protest on August 22 by all the opposition political parties in the region against President John Dramani Mahama and his government.

The purpose of the demonstration is to pressurise President Mahama to reduce electricity tariffs in the Northern Region by at least 50 per cent.

Mr Nabu said he was personally not happy that Mr Afoko’s issue had travelled that far, adding that “I am personally not happy how this issue has been”.

However, he expressed his excitement with the court’s verdict In dismissing Mr Afoko’s case.

According to him, since the court had cleared the legal suit, it will pave way for the party to stay focused and strategise to win power from the ruling NDC.
