Mr Antwi Konadu, who declared his intention to contest as Member of Parliament (MP) at a ceremony at Jukwa last Tuesday, said he was determined to help accelerate the process developing process of the area.

“I personally cannot understand why the road from Cape Coast through to the Kakum National Park to Heman is in this state,” he stated, adding that he was committed to bringing leadership with integrity to the people and helping to promote socio-economic development.

NDC and NPP

With the declaration of intent to contest, Mr Antwi Konadu, who is also the Manager of ATL FM in Cape Coast, comes face to face with the NDC’s incumbent MP, Foster Andoh, and Bright Wereko Brobbey of the New Patriotic Party.

His declaration changes the dynamics of the election which has usually been a straight contest between the NPP and the NDC.

Mr Antwi-Konadu said the area needed a leader with a track record in leadership and integrity to champion the political, economic and social transformation of the area.

Movement

“This movement is non-discriminatory in nature. It is about time we reflected on negative partisan considerations so that our community will be developed,” he stated.

He said it was obvious that no political party in Ghana could win an election solely with the votes of its registered members and called on all constituents to join his “movement” to ensure his victory for accelerated and total development of the area.

Show of support

Mr Antwi Konadu said he was encouraged by the show of support from all people in the area and appealed to all to ensure that they registered as voters to be able to vote for him and for development in the 2016 general election.
