Alhaji Farouk Mahama donates items to artisans in Yendi

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has donated some items to artisans in the Yendi Municipality.

The items, worth GH¢156,000 comprised 200 pieces of sewing machines, 50 hairdryers and 50 barbering kits.

Presenting the items at a short ceremony in Yendi today [Saturday, November 28, 2020], Alhaji Farouk, who is also the son of the late former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, said the items were meant to help the beneficiaries to develop their profession.

He said the items were also meant to help eradicate poverty in the constituency, stressing that the gesture was in fulfilment of a promise he made to the artisans in the constituency some months ago.

He said it was every leader’s responsibility and duty to bring development to his people and that he would continue to do his best to help facilitate development in the area.

“Leadership is about service to the people,” Alhaji Farouk said, pointing out that “Now that there is peace in Yendi; the next thing is to develop the area.”

He urged the people of Yendi and its environs to see themselves as one people.

He also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items.

The leader of the Artisans, Mr Adams Ebenezer applauded Alhaji Farouk for what he has done for them, pledging that that the items would be put to good use.
