Akatsi South Constituency bye election - NDC okeys 4 to contest primaries
They are Mr Bernard Ahiafor, a lawyer; Mr Simon Mawutor Adzrah, national administrator of Heroes Fund of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Prince Kasim Alubankudi, secretary to the UK/Ireland branch of NDC and Mr William Kpormatsi, constituency propaganda secretary of NDC.

The regional secretary of NDC, Mr Simon Amegashie-Viglo who made this known to Graphic Online Thursday, said one female candidate had picked a nomination form but could not get to the vetting stage.
He said prospective candidates who went through the vetting had to be registered voters in the constituency, of sound mind and without any criminal record.
According to him,10 people including two females had so far collected forms in the Buem constituency pending vetting.

South constituency became vacant following the election of
Mr Edward Doe Adjaho as Speaker of Parliament while the Buem
constituency became vacant after the death of the parliamentarian elect, past
Volta Regional Minister, Mr Henry Ford Kamel. He suddenly passed away on Christmas
day last year
