Agona East MP cuts sod for three projects

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona East Constituency, Mrs Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has inaugurated a 12-seater water closet toilet facility for the people of Agona Abosomasi.

At separate ceremonies, she also cut sod for toilet projects in three other communities.

The beneficiary communities are Kwao Tetteh Akrabong, Fante Bawjiase and Mansofo.

She was assisted by the NDC executive, as well as the Council of Elders in the constituency to inaugurate and cut the sod for the other projects.

In her speech, Mrs Sawyerr said she was placing premium in providing community toilets for her constituency.

That decision, she said, was arrived at after a cholera outbreak during the rainy season.

She emphasised her commitment to further develop the constituency with her three priority areas, including the construction of school buildings, community centres and community toilets as her main focus.

A founder member of the NDC party in the constituency, Mr Arthur, used the occasion to swear in five co-opted executive members of the party.

The chiefs, elders and members of the communities who were present at the colourful ceremony lauded the gesture of the MP and asked for God's blessings for her.
