24 NPP aspirants vetted in Upper East Region
A total of 24 Parliamentary aspirants in 13 out of the 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region have been vetted to contest parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Three people in the Chiana-Paga Constituency, including a former Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Alowe Leo Kabah, Mr Atinbire Solomon Abotiba and Mr Clement Dandori were vetted.
The Bawku Central Constituency had Mrs Agbanwa A. Gabiana , the only female aspirant in the region, Mr Abubakr Jibreel Ustaz and Mr Alhassan Haruna going through the vetting, while the Builsa South Constituency had Mr Daniel Kojo Akandobli and Mr Daniel K. Gariba as the parliamentary aspirants.
Mr Yen Sapark and the incumbent MP, Mr Adagbila Boniface Agambila, were vetted for the Nabdam Constituency, while Dr Joseph Kofi Adda, a former MP and Alhaji Abdallah Achuliwor represented the Navrongo Constituency.
The Binduri and Builsa North constituencies had Mr Abanga Abdulai, a former Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Stephen Yakubu, Mr Alonsi Thomas, a former District Chief Executive and Mr Listowel Awaanbe Bukarson, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association respectively appeared before the vetting committee.
Mr Agana Bawa Rashid, the Chief Executive Officer of Tanga Radio, Mr Amiyuure Joseph Atura and Asanga S. A. Rex represented the Bolga Constituency.
Mr Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, a lawyer and lecturer at the Bolgatanga Polytechnic, Mr Gabriel N.A. Agana, Mr Frank Fuseini Adongo, Professor Emmanuel Abugre Abole, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast and Mr Alhassan Samari, a former Upper East Regional Minister respectively who are running unopposed for the Tempane, Bongo, Zebilla, Bolga East and Garu constituencies appeared before the committee.
The Chairman of the Vetting Committee, Mr Edmund Bombande, said they could not conduct the vetting exercise in the Pusiga and Talensi constituencies as no candidate had filed for Pusiga and they were yet to sort things out with regards to Talensi as the incumbent MP for the area had been enskined as the paramount chief of that traditional area.
He said now that the vetting was over, they would have to submit their report to the National Executive Council of the party to determine who was qualified to contest, indicating that they had no power to disqualify any candidate.
Before the vetting, some polling station executive members in the Builsa North Constituency submitted a petition to the committee demanding the disqualification of Mr Listowel Awaanbe Bukarson.
They accused him of deceit, indicating he lied about his age and also supported the National Democratic Congress MP for the area, Mr James Agalgam during the 2012 parliamentary elections.
Mr Bukarson,however, denied those allegations.
