2020 Polls will usher in an era of govt of national unity — JOY

An Independent Candidate in the 2016 elections, Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, has said the 2020 elections would be an “Armageddon election” where the party politics, led mainly by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be brought to an end in order to usher in a new era of a government of national unity.

That election, he said, would not be predicated on political or ideological dogma but the need to break the jinx of endless deceit, lies, corruption and theft of state resources by the political elite, saying “it will separate the good from the bad.”

Mr Yeboah was conclusive that the NDC and the NPP were one and the same and that they both clung to the same practice where the only people who benefited while in power were the political elite.

Mr Yeboah said this at a press conference he held in conjunction with a coalition of civil society organisations (CSOs), made up of the independent presidential system, United One Ghana, Civil Society Momentum and Model Africa Democracy,  which were represented by Messrs Alfred J. Butler, Jacob Abbey and Isaac Bohulu, respectively.

The new heroes of Ghana and Africa

Mr Yeboah announced his emergence  as the face of the independent presidential system, United One Ghana, Civil Society Momentum and Model Africa Democracy, which represented the broad definition of heroes of Ghana and Africa with the vision of bringing about integration and a government of unity.

For these new heroes of Ghana and Africa, he said, the time had come for “this bondage of economic impoverishment and opprobrious, gargantuan corruption and deceit upon Ghanaians to expire.”

The tyranny of parliamentary majority

On Parliament, Mr Yeboah said that institution, through the tyranny of the Majority had institutionalised corruption against Ghanaians through the neo-colonial masters of the NDC and NPP.

“Successive Parliaments of the Fourth Republic, through tyranny of the majority decisions, have not served the nation well on issues regarding national assets and socio-economic projects,” he pointed out, saying  the ambiguous role of our MPs as representatives of the people is a mockery of our multiparty democracy.
