2 Call for military-police patrol in Kumasi

Both made the call on Nhyira Fm’s Morning Show in Kumasi during the weekend in their bid to contribute to the way forward on recent acts of terrorism by a group of robbers in the Kumasi Metropolis.

The terrorising robbers  mostly ride on motorbikes, wielding guns and machetes and shooting indiscriminately, causing fear, panic and insecurity among Kumasi residents.

Some of the hot spots that have witnessed the dastardly act include Ayigya (Tech Junction), Oforikrom, Anloga Junction, Krofuom, Bantama, and Abrepo Junction, all suburbs of Kumasi.

In line with that the police arrested about 150 suspects and intensified security in the metropolis with some reinforcement from the Police Headquarters in Accra.

Mr Yammin and Kofi Jumah had opted for military-police joint action on the premise that the said robbers were hardened criminals who could overpower the police.

They expressed the belief that it was only when the military joined the police in intensifying security that the metropolis would be able to deal with the miscreants.
