Rev Emmanuel Kwabena Mustapha, the Yendi Missionary in charge of the Ghana Baptist Convention, disclosed this when he briefed newsmen on the exercise at the Yendi Government Hospital.
He said the surgical and gynaecological outreach programme was organised by the management of the Yendi Hospital, in collaboration with the Baptist Church of Yendi.
The Leader of the team, Rev Joe Nogalski, said it was happy that through its relationship with Christ, it had been able to bring the doctors together to provide health services for the people, adding that the exercise might be an annual affair.
Mr Anthony Sopaal, the Clinical Care Coordinator of the hospital, who represented the Yendi Medical Superintendent, said the medical team screened 160 patients and sent 96 of them for surgery.
He said in all the team was supposed to deal with 100 cases during the exercise which started from February10, 2013.
He said the hospital lacked personnel, saying if the media could reduce their focus on politics and discuss the concerns of the rural areas, more could be achieved. - GNA
