Rural bank donates to Ankaase Methodist Faith Healing Hospital

Authorities of the Juaben Rural Bank have donated a cheque for GHc5,000 to the management of the Methodist Faith Healing Hospital at Ankaase to enhance quality healthcare  at the paediatric unit of the hospital.

The donation, which is in response to a request from the hospital, is to support the management of the facility to purchase a number of cots for babies on admission at the unit to help prevent infection among them.

Mr Michael Addai of the Juaben Rural Bank, who presented the cheque on behalf of the board and the management, was full of praise for the management of the hospital for providing quality health care for residents of the Afigya Kwabre District at  affordable cost.

Quality health care

“ Providing quality health care for residents of the district, especially maternity care for our women and babies on admission at the paediatric unit, is very commendable,” he said.

He gave an assurance that the donation was the beginning of other forms of support that the bank would offer to the hospital in future to enable it to expand its facilities to reach out to more people.

The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Mr Joseph A. Amankwah, who received the cheque on behalf of the hospital, thanked the bank for its gesture.

He said the donation would  not only make it possible for the facility to buy 10 additional cots but also prevent infections associated with putting more than a baby in each cot .

Affordability He said the facility, being a mission hospital, was obliged to provide quality health care for its clients at an affordable cost, pointing out that besides providing paediatric care for babies, it also offered maternity care, ear, nose and throat treatment,   diagnostic care and eye and other emergency services to the people, many of whom were peasant farmers.

He, therefore, appealed to corporate bodies, organisations and individuals to support the hospital to expand its facilities to enhance its operations in the area.

At the same ceremony, the Susan Wesley Auxiliary Mission of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church donated 15 mattresses to the hospital.
