Pure Fire dental health outreach for children
A Medical Officer at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Philip Bayitse, has expressed concern about increases in oral diseases and underscored the need to treat such diseases with outmost urgency.

He said apart from the discomfort, if the disease continued without treatment, could create more health complication leading to death.
Dental Outreach
Dr Bayitse told Graphic Online, on the fringes of a Dental Outreach Programme organised by the Pure Fire Miracle Ministries for children on Saturday.
More than 60 children were educated on the definition, signs and symptoms, health complication, prevention and control, demonstration (how to brush your teeth).
The children were treated after consultation and also provided with supplies, while others were referred to the hospital for further action.
It was funded by Mr Alfred Agbosu, the Chief Executive of Champion Oil Company Limited.
Oral Disease
Dr Bayitse said oral diseases and their attendant complications are as dangerous as any other disease and stressed the need for people to seek medical attention immediately there was a sign.
Complication
“Oral health is not only about the teeth, but other complications such as oral cancer can set in leading to death, he said.
Although he could not give statistics to support his clam, Dr Bayitse said “people have been dying on many occasion at the hospital, after self-medication.”
He said just recently, one person died after applying some concoction to his jaw when he was suffering from tooth-ache, an act which predisposed him to infection leading to his death.
He underscored the need to support the Dental Department of the hospital to enable many people to benefit from its services.
Responsibility
The General Overseer of the Pure Fire Miracle Ministries, Dr Enoch Aminu said it was the responsibility of the Ministries to see the well-being of the people, particularly, children hence the need for the programme.
