The presentation is to ensure that the girls do not miss out on their education because of a lack of resources to secure their basic sanitary needs.

Presentation

Making the presentation, the General Overseer of High Powered Ministries International and the visioner of the Rahab Project, Rev Mrs Ernestine Ivy Hiadzi said, no girl should suffer stigma because of “a God-given menstrual cycle”.

She noted that the donation was not made just to coincide with the global occasion but assured that the church had adopted the school and would be doing similar presentations often so that the children would not be in need.

She indicated although it was good to use the occasion to shed light on the plight of the girls, the support must not cease with the end of the celebration because the ladies go through the menstrual cycle every month and would need the support throughout the years.

The girls were also served healthy snacks to meet their nutritional needs.

Education

Health workers with the Rahab project took the girls through safe menstrual hygiene practices and other important health education.

The Headmistress of the school, Madam Akua Serwaa Yankey, expressed great delight at the gesture. She revealed most of the girls come to school without pads during their time of the month and the teachers had to provide for them from their own meagre resources.

She described the presentation as a great move to meet a great need.

She appealed to other philanthropists to emulate the gesture and come to the aid of the school.

The girls were extremely happy and expressed their gratitude to the church for their timely intervention.
