According to the doctors and health workers, the shortage could lead to the outbreak of cholera at the hospital.

The water shortage has lasted for days and the authorities are calling on the Ghana Water Company to come to their aid.

According to Citifmonline, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mustapha Salifu said the hospital has to rely on private water suppliers for provision of water.

“The hospital has been having erratic supply of water so what it is doing is to call on private water suppliers and other companies that are in the business to supply water to the hospital so that we can keep the service going.”

According to Mr. Salifu, although the hospital did not anticipate the problem, it is trying as much as possible to look for funds elsewhere to avoid water shortage.

“We try as much as possible to avoid that situation but sometimes it may slightly delay the provision of medical care. This is not something that we planned for but we have to look for money elsewhere to be buying water every day.”
