The items included clothing, adult diapers, cooking oil, bags of rice, assorted detergents and disinfectants, toothpaste and brushes etc.

The gesture formed part of the Women’s Ministry’s evangelism programme which is being run on the theme, ‘Touch a heart- reach my world’.

The Deputy in Charge of the children’s ward, Ms Makafui Agbeko, receiving the items, expressed her gratitude to the ministry, using the opportunity to also call for support from other institutions and organisations in the country.

She also expressed worry about the lack of logistics to run the day-to-day activities of the ward.

She noted that the children’s ward was under-resourced, making it difficult for it to discharge its duties effectively.

“The patients sometimes come to the hospital with the aid of police, family members and individuals after suspecting mental illness,” she stated.

The Leader of the ministry, Mrs Joyce Attakora, for her part promised that the group would periodically visit the facility and support it as a way of preaching the gospel.
