We need re-orientation on dishonest earning - Abakah Turkson
Owner of Sonturk Group of Supermarkets, Mr Kobina Abakah Turkson says Ghanaians need a national re-orientation on the effects of dishonestly earning.
He said honest people are continuously becoming scarce as many now seek to earn through whichever dubious means possible.

He said Parliament, the Christian Council and other faith-based oganizations, the media and all other related agencies must rise in a massive campaign against corruption and dishonest earning.
Mr Kobina Turkson was speaking at a ceremony to open another branch of his supermarkets at Twifo Praso in the Central region on Friday, August 23, 2019.
With the facility, the Twifo Praso township now has its first major supermarket.

Sonturk Supermarket, a wholesale and retail company in the Central region has supermarkets in Kasoa, Mankesim and Cape Coast and extended its operations to Twifo Praso.
Hundreds of residents who trouped to the shop after its official opening said the prices would make life better.
The Owner of the, Mr Kobina Turkson stated that the goal was to expand his business while ensuring that his customers in and around Twifo Praso had goods readily available.
“The retailers I deal with do not have to travel to Cape Coast for their goods. They can get it at the same prices. Individuals also have the opportunity to access variety at cheap prices,” he said.

He noted that many business do not do well basically because of dishonest employees.
He called for a national re-orientation to educate Ghanaians on the dishonestly earning.
He said attitudes of many Ghanaian towards private business and even towards work in general was greatly affecting private business and generally the nation’s socio-economic growth.
“Nobody is interested in working on changing attitudes. But our attitudes and mindset is what is killing us as a nation.
Disincentive to businesses
This he stated was a disincentive for many private businessmen and others who would want to venture into businesses noting that many private men were struggling to get honest people to work with.
He said he currently had eight cases pending against employees.
“People don’t have jobs but when you give them jobs they begin to look for loopholes to loot the system. Businessmen are suffering and its not good for the country in general,” he added.

He said if these attitudes were not checked programmes such as the one district one factory would suffer the same fate and would not benefit the nation.
