Wait on EC to declare winner - Asiedu Nketia advises NDC supporters
Mr Nketiah accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of “peddling lies and propaganda about votes being added to the presidential candidate of the NDC, President John Mahama.
“I want all Ghanaians, especially NDC supporters not to believe the lies and disgruntled reports from political parties blaming the NDC for their performance so far in the elections”
He said the NPP was interfering in the constitutional obligation of the EC by “peddlings lies and propaganda about votes being added to the NDC's” and added that “We as a peaceful party and law abiding, will only wait for the EC to come out with its final results”.
Mr Nketiah said regardless of which party the EC declared the winner, the NDC government would ensure that nothing destructive affected the peace and stability of Ghana.
According to him, the party would not take matters into its hands and that they would always resort to using the legal way of addressing their grievances.
He said it was the duty and responsiblity of every political party to put in place a mechanism to check its results as announced at the polling stations, even before the EC officially declared its results.
