The Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has issued a challenge to those advocating for the release of a load-shedding timetable by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) amid the ongoing power challenges in the country.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh's challenge comes as pressure mounts for a structured schedule to address the power outages affecting both individuals and businesses, particularly in the Greater Accra Region.

Despite calls from various quarters, including the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and prominent figures, ECG has maintained its stance against implementing a load-shedding timetable.

The company argues that there is no official "dumsor" situation and therefore considers a timetable unnecessary at this time.

Speaking at the inauguration of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) campaign team in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh questioned the rationale behind calls for a timetable when ECG has stated that no such plan is in place.

He challenged critics to devise their own timetable if they believe it is necessary, emphasizing that ECG has not announced any plans for load-shedding.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh assured the public that efforts are underway to address the challenges in the power sector, reiterating the government's commitment to resolving the current power crisis.
