Vida Bethel Prayer Ministry donates GH¢100,000 to Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council

Prophetess Vida Osei Mensah, leader of the Vida Bethel Prayer Ministry at Aprade, within the Oforikrom Municipality in the Ashanti Region, has presented a cash amount of GH¢100, 000.00 to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) to support 10 health centres in the region in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

The money was to aid the selected health centres to purchase medical items needed to attend to cases of COVID-19 that may be reported at their outfits.

Health Centres

The beneficiary health centres included the Sepe Buokrom health Centre, KNUST hospital, Nkawie-Toase hospital, Kuntenase Hospital and the Manhyia Government Hospital.

The regional Coordinating Council would select the other five health centres depending on their needs and preparedness to add up to the list of 10 beneficiaries.

Presentation

Presenting the money on behalf of her mother to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei Mensah, Dr Angela Osei Mensah, said the donation was the church and her mother’s support in contributing to national efforts in the fight against the spread of the disease in the region.

Dr Osei-Mensah, a medical practitioner noted that the threat of the disease was real and therefore urged others who may be in privileged position to help government respond adequately to the pandemic.

"My mum, Prophetess Vida Osei Mensah felt the need to support the regional administration to deal with the crisis situation it has on its hand so that persons who visit these selected hospitals can get treatment for COVID 19," she said.

Regional Minister

Receiving the money, Mr Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister thanked the Prophetess for the gesture and said that such show of support was crucial to help government respond to the pressing issue on hand.

He said the government needed the support of all and sundry to deal with the threat of the viral disease and commended the Prophetess and her church for the donation.

"We are grateful to God that people like Madam Vida Osei Mensah and others are supporting government to deal with the threat of this pandemic and we believe that resourcing hospitals is a good start to deal with the disease", the Minister stressed.

Manhyia North MP

Representing his Nine (9) other colleague Members of Parliament whose health centres were beneficiaries of the gesture, Mr Collins Owusu Amankwah, MP for Manhyia North commended the Prophetess for the cash donation and asked other citizens to join in the fight against the dreaded coronavirus disease by providing any support they could offer to the institutions and the personnel in charge of the fight.

"We are privileged to have people like Vida Osei Mensah supporting government to deal with this COVID 19 and we urge citizens to pay heed to all directives given by President Akufo-Addo to ensure we limit the spread and contraction of the disease," the MP stated.
