US business professionals ready to invest in Ghana
A United States-based body of business professionals, the National Black Masters of Business Administration Association (NBMBAA), a network of business professionals, has expressed interest in investing in Ghana.

The association has identified sectors that include waste management , tourism, technology and agriculture, as some of the major areas on the list of potential sectors for the investment.
The President of NBMBAA, Dr Jesse Tyson, made this known at a press conference after a delegation from the association had toured some business sectors in the Greater Accra Region.
The group was invited by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, Mr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, to assess Ghana’s business climate and also identify viable sectors for investment.
While in Ghana, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Ishmael Ashitey, where they discussed a number of business proposals.
They also toured some areas in Accra and visited businesses, including Niche Cocoa Company.
Ghana attractive
Touching on what the team discovered in Ghana, Dr Tyson said they were impressed with the business environment in Ghana, indicating that the association intended to bring more than 100 investors to Ghana next February.
Asked about the gravity of the investment the association intended to bring, he said: “The reason we don’t have a budget is because the individuals we are bringing are the ones who will have to go out and procure the resources to do the investments.”

Touching on why he brought the association to Ghana, Mr Vanderpuije said after he was invited to a conference in Philadelphia last September, he made a presentation on Ghana's business potential to members of the association.
After the presentation, the association expressed interest in investing in Ghana.
“The six-member delegation’s visit to Ghana is the outcome of the former Mayor's sterling presentation on Ghana’s viable business environment,” Mr Vanderpuije said.
He said there were a lot of investment opportunities in the country for expatriates to take advantage of, adding: “When I realised I could court US investors to Ghana, I decided to invite them to come and have first-hand knowledge about Ghana”.
Concerning the February conference, he said: “About 125 investors will arrive in Ghana from the United States and they will be introduced to the relevant government agencies.”
