Three die in Savelugu accident

The Metro Mass bus is said to have run into the saloon carThree people died on the spot when a Metro Mass Transit bus collided with a saloon car at Savelugu on the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway on Monday.
The deceased were all occupants of the Nissan Primera saloon car, with registration number ER 2058 W.

They have been identified as Alhaji Adam,46; Hajia Hawa Salifu,75, and Adam Abubakari,4.

Their bodies have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue, while one person is in critical condition at  the hospital.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Northern Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Ebenezer Tetteh, about 1:45 p.m. on Monday, the Metro Mass bus, with registration number GS 3620 Z, was travelling from Bolgatanga to Tamale while the saloon car was travelling from Tamale to Savelugu.

He said on reaching a section of the road near  the World Vision International office at Savelugu, the Metro Mass bus reportedly veered off its lane and entered into the lane of the saloon car and collided with it.

Mr Tetteh said three occupants of the saloon car were killed instantly, leaving a fourth person in critical condition.

According to the PRO, the police were still investigating the accident.
