Thousands benefit from LIFECHECK 2026 in Dansoman

More than 13,000 residents from Dansoman, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Lartebiokoshie and surrounding communities have benefited from LIFECHECK 2026, a community outreach initiative focused on providing support across healthcare, education, nutrition and social welfare.

The event, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at KariKari Park in Dansoman under the theme "Love Beyond Words," was organised by the Empowerment Worship Centre and its outreach arm, the Empowerment Care Foundation.

Speaking to the media during the outreach, the Global Lead Pastor of Empowerment Worship Centre, Prophet Gideon Danso, emphasised that faith must be demonstrated through tangible acts of kindness. "Christianity is about extending love to others. Our faith must be demonstrated through acts of kindness and service. LIFECHECK is our commitment to be the church beyond the walls. Today, we brought the hospital and the classroom to KariKari Park," he said.

He elaborated on the mission, saying the foundation of the church is about civilisation and bringing people out of darkness. He said the church believes that by addressing real needs, including fixing teeth, providing health insurance and equipping children for school, that is love beyond words.

The initiative delivered substantial support across several areas. More than 5,500 school bags, 2,000 pairs of footwear and over 12,000 exercise books were distributed. Additionally, more than 10,000 essential products and family necessities were provided to support students and families. More than 4,500 food packs were provided, complemented by 313 complimentary haircuts facilitated through a partnership with Sigs Barbering Salon.

In the area of health and wellness, over 1,200 medical, dental and eye care cases were attended to. This included facilitating nine life-changing surgeries, administering 159 Hepatitis B vaccinations, collecting 67 units of donated blood for the National Blood Bank and dispensing GH¢300,000 worth of essential medications free of charge. A total of 1,617 individuals were successfully registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme.

The success of the event was driven by the dedication of over 800 volunteers and made possible through collaboration between the church and numerous corporate partners, community stakeholders and local businesses.

Resource partners included Pepsodent (Unilever Ghana), Indomie (Multipro Ghana), GB Foods (Didi Shito), Gino, Vitamilk, Promasidor, Optimum Food, Saladmaster Science and Art of Cooking and Nestlé Ghana (Milo). Additional contributions in the pharmaceutical and health sectors were made by Phyto Riker, M&G Pharmaceuticals, Unichem, Pharmanova, Elhams Pharmaceuticals, Lucky Pharmacy, Kelmed Pharmaceuticals and Tobinco Pharmaceuticals.
