The Urvan bus was mangled to the extent that the police could not identify its registration number.

After hitting the Urvan bus, the articulated truck, with registration number GS 6642-10, veered off its lane into the other, somersaulted and caught fire before landing on two taxis that had been parked in front of a house at Tanoso.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman while seven other passengers are on admission at the same hospital.

The Techiman  Motor Traffic Transport Unit (MTTU) Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Andrews Kofi Okonengye, told the Daily Graphic that the deceased persons were the driver and a passenger on board the Urvan bus but the police were yet to get their names.

He said the articulated truck ran into the Urvan bus from behind, as a result of  suspected brake failure, and the Urvan bus also crashed into another articulated truck with registration number, AS 8894 Z, which was in front of it.
