Suspected wedding thief refused bail

An Accra circuit court on Wednesday refused the bail application for Emelia Appiah, who is suspected to have stolen GH¢ 15,000.00 belonging to Mr and Mrs Eric Botwe, at their wedding reception.

Emelia, unemployed, was refused bail after her lawyer prayed the court, presided over by Madam Romaine Abele Abbey, to grant her request.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded into police custody to reappear on August 28.

Police Inspector Kofi Nyadikor told the court that the complainant is Mr Eric Botwe Jnr, a businessman, whiles the accused is unemployed.
