Anokye pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery and the court, presided over by Mr Francis Obiri, remanded him to reappear on September 2, 2013.

The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Patrick Morkeh, told the court that sometime in July, 2009, Anokye and four others robbed Mr Nanese Masurb, a Sri Lankan, of his personal property and cash of $34,000 at his house at Achimota.

In the same year, George Ayitey, Stanley Kuwornu and Dogbe, alias Shoutie, were arrested as suspects in the case and they are now standing trial at an Accra High Court.

The prosecution said the police had a tip off on August 9, 2013, that Anokye was hiding in a house at Asaman Tamfoe, near Anyinam, and the police traced him to his hide-out and picked him up.
