According to the Minister the young ladies who are promised better life in the Arabian countries are later recruited to practice prostitution which violates their rights.

Nana Oye Lithur made the call during a forum held for head potters to register onto the National Health Insurance Scheme in Accra.

She said that her Ministry would collaborate with the president of the head potters association to find solutions to the act.

She emphasised that the law would be made to bring all the people who are practicing the illegal act to book.

“We are warning you, we will catch you, and will prosecute and convict you, you will go to jail so all those who are trafficking Kayayei should be on the alert and stop that practice”, she warned.

She made this call in response to the increasing number of young ladies being trafficked to the Arabian countries to practice prostitution and are also made to face all manner of inhumane abuse by their so-called masters.
