The victim, Daniel Mills, is currently on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Mills was shot when he asked the robbers their mission at the depot after they had ordered him and the other workers there to go into a room.

One of the depot workers, whose name was given only as Nii, has been arrested by the Dansoman Police to assist in investigations.

Nii’s arrest followed a review of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) film at the company which captured almost all the activities of the suspected criminals.

Briefing the Daily Graphic at the crime scene, the Dansoman District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent K. Antwi Tabi, said around 4 p.m. yesterday, the armed robbers entered the yard of the company, firing warning shots.

They were said to have ordered all the members of staff, including drivers and those who were then packing crates of Guinness and Guinness Malta, to enter a room, while two of the robbers searched for money.

One of the suspected robbers, wielding a pistol, stood guard at the gate.

Chief Supt Tabi urged companies and private individuals who could afford CCTV to install them on their premises because it aided police investigations when crimes were committed.

He also suggested to companies to check the background of the people they employed.
