Rapid fire response system introduced

The Head of Operations of Fire Solutions Africa, Mr Joseph Kumi, demonstrating the use of the Rapid Resolve Unit to council members of the Ghana National Fire ServiceFire Solutions Africa has introduced a fire foam protection system known as the Rapid Resolve Unit (RRU) to help solve fire outbreaks which have destroyed  properties in the country.

The use of the unit was demonstrated to council members of the Ghana National Fire Service at its headquarters in Accra last Monday.

The RRU systems are easy to operate and fully self-contained. All mixing occurs outside the water tank.

Fire Solutions Africa is a United States of America (USA) based company and has sold numerous units throughout the United States and other countries.

The Chief Executive Officer of Fire Solutions Africa, Mr Wes Hunter, said the system came in handy as first aid for fighting fire outbreaks at market places, homes and industries.

He explained that the foamy substance was bio degradable and could be programmed to a computer system to be able to alert customers on fire outbreaks.

The unit, he said, could only reach out to the third floor of a storey- building.

The main objective of this unit is to suppress fire before it grows into an unquenchable fire.

In a brief remark, the Chairman of the Fire Service Council, Alhaji Gimadu B. Sorogho, urged the general public to do what was right to prevent fire outbreaks in the country.

“When the fire unit is accepted by council members of the Ghana National Fire Service, it would encourage various institutions to purchase one for use as first aid in the event of fire outbreaks,” Alhaji Sorogho said.
