Ransom placed on heads of Ellembelle gang-rape suspects

The Ellembelle District Security Council says it will reward GH¢2,000 to any informer able to volunteer information that leads to the arrest of four members of the community alleged to have gang-raped a 14-year-old Primary 6 pupil.

The suspects whose ages range between 17 and 35, have been on the run since their alleged deed came to light.

Mr. Kwesi Bonzoh, chairman of the Ellembelle District Security Council, disclosed the SOS call and reward when he led a delegation to call on the parents of the victim at Asenda in the Ellembele District of the Western Region.

Mr. Bonzoh who is also the District Chief Executive said the society frowns on the alleged act by the four suspects.

Lacing of soft drink

The four suspects are alleged to have laced a soft drink with a substance that caused the victim to fall into a trance at a party at Bobrama after which they took advantage of her.

The victim, according to the police, became drowsy upon taking the drink and woke up the next day with her underwear torn and clothes stained with blood with severe pains in her private part.

The victim who recalled that the suspects gave her a drink reported the incident to her mother’s friend who in turn led her to inform her mother.
